1978 Jawa 895 Twin Cam Long Track  “Ivan”

We purchased this machine from the late George Wenn in April of 1999. The bike was in fair condition, but most importantly, not is pieces. George was proud of this bike, claiming  it was one of Ivan Mauger’s bikes at one time.

George was a personal friend of Ivan’s and had done a great deal of work for him over the years. (George and another friend, Ray Bokelman, built the famous “Gold” bike and presented it to Ivan for winning his third World Championship in a row).

This bike has also been ridden in Australia by one of the Moran Bros. And at Ascot Park in Gardena, California by Eddie Castro.

The bike sat in our garage until the spring of 2005 when I began the restoration. I completed it at the end of August. The fenders and mudguard were done by Starline Guards of England in Ivan’s pattern and colors.

This is one of the only Long Track bikes that I know of in the U.S.
