1975 Mk1 Weslake  “Reggie”

This is a 1975 Mk1 Weslake, the first of the Weslake machines. This bike (Reggie) was purchased from a collector and friend (Richard Snodin) of England, in 2001. The Mk1 was known to have weak engine cases, and as I understand it, Harry Weslake redesigned the cases and ordered all remaining cases in the factory to be destroyed.  Very few Mk1 Weslakes have survived over the years. This is one of them.

Note the “W” on the rear Diamond axle stays.
